Labor Day Festivities in Chicagoland

Summer 2018 is coming to an end, and it’s time once again to celebrate the American worker.  If you’re not jetting off to the lake house, check out what’s going on right in your backyard:

I Was Raised On The Internet – Museum of Contemporary Art

This interactive exhibition shows how the Internet shaped the way we interact. You can explore five sections of photography, art, film, and video highlighting how life changed since 1999. After your high-tech day, you can unplug for a few hours for a bit of contrast. Experience the world instead of your phone screen. Look a stranger in the eye. Write a friend a letter instead of a text. It will be like Labor Day in the 90s! Before you do that, though, use the magic of the Internet to get info here.

The Magic Parlour – Palmer House Hotel

This critically acclaimed magic show boasts its seventh year at Palmer House. Watch third generation magician Dennis Watkins dazzle the audience with classic magic, humor, and the ability to pull impossible things out of his facial orifices. Make $79 disappear and get a ticket here.

Sukhava Bodhe Yoga Festival

You’ll have to travel to Earlville, IL to participate in this four-day yoga fest, but really, that’s not much to ask for a weekend of Zen. And, if you think this event is only yoga, you’re wrong. You’ll also find beekeeping classes, wisdom talks, kirtan music, fire dancing, a Stonehouse sweat hut, and more. Your ticket to a peaceful mind and a clean energy field starts here.

Cocktail Cruise

Whether you want to entertain out-of-town guests or just need some alone time, a booze cruise is always a hit. There are plenty to choose from, and all exclaim details such as, “Top deck to party on!” and “Best views of Chicago!” and “No dress code!” Every boat seems to be a winner, so pick a yacht here.

Great American Lobster Fest – Navy Pier

The Midwest’s largest lobster and seafood festival is happening this weekend at Navy Pier. Boiled lobster, lobster rolls, lobster mac and cheese, lobster martinis, live music, and more. Other than a lobster martini, how can you go wrong? Get info here.

Whatever you decide to do this weekend, we wish you a safe and happy holiday. And, if you’re inclined to apply for a mortgage, our online application only takes 20 minutes, so you’ll have plenty of time left over for fun. Click here to begin.
