Labor Day Festivities in Chicagoland
The fruits of your labor earned a well-deserved break, and there are plenty of things to do around town to maximize three-day weekend fun. Celebrate the end of Summer 2017 at these local attractions:
Specimens: Unlocking the Secrets of Life at the Field Museum
The secret to life can be found right here in the Windy City, so if you want in on it, visit the Specimens exhibit at the Field Museum ASAP. The website doesn’t provide any hints as to what the secret might be, but it must be contained within the 30 million (yes, million) dead birds, beetles, and fossilized plants that are on display and ready for your discerning eye. Get info here.
The Magic Parlour - Palmer House Hotel
This magical performance boasts its sixth year of critically acclaimed shows. Watch third generation magician Dennis Watkins dazzle the audience with classic magic, humor, and the ability to pull impossible things out of his facial orifices. Make $79 disappear and get a ticket here.
Chicago Cocktail Cruise
Whether you need to entertain an out-of-town guest or are stumped on how to spend date night, you can’t go wrong with a booze cruise. Well, I guess you can go wrong with a booze cruise, but it will probably be fine. Take a chance and get a ticket here.
Sukhava Bodhe Yoga Festival
You’ll have to drive 70 miles to participate, but really, that’s not a lot to ask for a weekend of enlightenment. Enjoy yoga and meditation at sunrise. Attend a “Howling at the Moon” ceremony. Clean your filthy energy with a crystal bowl healing. It all happens here.
Naperville Last Fling
Bret Michaels on Saturday, Barenaked Ladies on Sunday, and deep-fried cheesecake all day, every day through Monday. Not much else needs to be said, but if you insist on more details, get them here.
Whatever you decide to do this weekend, we wish you a safe and happy holiday. And, if you’re inclined to apply for a mortgage, our online application only takes 20 minutes, so you’ll have plenty of time left over for fun. Click here to begin.
