What Mortgage Program is Best for you?

Erik Mansfield

Mortgage Banker

When you’re not working with the right mortgage lender, a lot of things can happen during the process that lead to a bad experience.  One of these items is not working with someone who has an understanding of all the product types in the market.

At United Home Loans, we work with numerous investors that allow us access to all different types of programs.  Whether you’re looking to purchase or refinance, it’s important to be asked the right questions so every program is considered.  Every borrower is unique, so the best loan program for “Borrower A” might not be the best program for “Borrower B.”  From the beginning, I ask questions to make sure you’re being qualified and comfortable with the program that puts you in the best financial position. Questions include:

  • What type of payment are you comfortable with?
  • How long do you anticipate to stay in your home?
  • Do you plan to make improvements to the property?
  • How much of a down payment do you want to make?

The list goes on and on.  Like I mentioned, each borrower is unique and getting a true understanding of your goals is something I pride myself on.  With over 15 years of experience as an underwriter and mortgage banker, I have a strong knowledge on all the available programs and what is needed to qualify.  I want to be your Mortgage Banker for life, so I’m not going to close your loan and never be heard from again.  I check in with my clients on a periodic basis to make sure everything is going as expected and see if there is ever an opportunity to get you in a better program.  If your banker is not asking specific questions and just having you fill out an application, you’re not getting the attention you deserve. If you ever need an honest answer to a mortgage questions, don’t hesitate to contact me here or at 708-531-8308.
