Chicago can also be reached by train via Amtrak and Metra into one of the five train stations, including the famous Union Station. Chicago has 26 miles of lakefront along the shores of Lake Michigan, the fifth largest body of fresh water in the world. Also, running through the city is the Chicago River, which is known for being dyed green every year to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day.
